Aid and assist in the resettlement process by:
- Helping refugees navigate the bureaucracy to maintain temporary medical and dental care, supplemental food, enrollment in school, prenatal appointments, and complicated medical and dental issues often resulting in surgery or long term treatment.
- Providing advocacy between the refugee and state and local agencies.
- Answering questions relating to the daily challenges of life in America with the aid of volunteer interpreters. Helping to fill out paperwork, make and drive appointments that serve to aid and educate the refugee to self-reliance.
- Providing monthly topical life skills classes that further educate and equip the refugee to live productive lives in America while preserving their culture. These classes are primarily targeted to women and address topics such as, personal hygiene, food safety, health and nutrition, children’s needs and safety in the home.
